What is Bowen Therapy?
The therapy which was devised in Australia in the 1950’s by Tom Bowen, who by the 1970’s was treating about 13,000 people a year with this gentle but effective therapy. Louth Bowen based a few minutes walk from the centre of Louth, in Lincolnshire offers Bowen therapy which can be effective for the alleviation joint pain, muscle pain and back pain, whether caused by injury or of non specific origin.
The therapy which is non invasive and safe, consists of a series of light rolling moves over muscles tendons and nerves at precise points on the body. During and after treatment people generally become very relaxed and some experience heat or tingling in the affected area. Bowen therapy can help can kick start the healing of even long term injuries and problems. It can also be helpful for non musculoskeletal problems such as sinusitis and migraine.
